Frederick Brewington - Adjunct Professor of Law

Frederick Brewington is one of the area’s best-known civil rights lawyers. His firm, with offices in Hempstead and Manhattan, specializes in litigation primarily in the area of civil rights, voting rights, employment discrimination, and police misconduct. He was lead counsel for plaintiffs in the landmark voting rights case Goosby v. Town of Hempstead, in which the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York ruled that the at-large voting system in the Town of Hempstead discriminated against minority voters and thus violated the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Mr. Brewington received his B.A. with honors from the State University of New York at Albany, and his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
