4:30 PM - 6:30 PM, Auditorium
The SBA will be showing the documentary film "Torturing Democracy" today. This film describes, in brutal detail, the excesses of the Bush administration regarding the detention and interrogation of prisoners at Guantanamo. Students in Constitutional Law have read some of the "war on terrorism" cases and this film relates quite directly to issues raised in those cases. Eric Holder's recent announcement that five of the detainees will be tried in civilian courts in NYC certainly makes the issue timely. Popcorn will be served.
