A Special Note to First Year Students
Although we know that you are eager to begin your job search for summer employment, we are restricted from working with 1L's until after November 1st. This restriction has been set by the National Association For Law Placement (NALP) and is followed by every ABA accredited law school in the country. The philosophy behind this restriction is a recognition that the demands of law school are significant and a new student must devote his/her undivided attention to their studies in order to effectively acclimate to this endeavor. In the middle of the first semester, the CSO will hold first year orientations, and thereafter 1L's can schedule individual appointments to begin a job search.

A Special Note to Evening Students
We recognize that evening students have a multitude of demands placed upon them in addition to their law school studies. Most evening students are balancing the demands of family, while working full time and have limited availability to experience internships, externships and other similar law-related positions. In addition, since the evening program is four years in duration, most evening students perceive graduation as being so far in the future that making post-graduation plans seem premature. However, the CSO can offer creative solutions for evening students to gain practical legal experience. We maintain evening hours and can meet with evening students at times other than the "posted" office hours.
